Les Wain of Vulcan Painters Inc. Receives NACE Certification
Les Wain of Vulcan Painters Inc., has received National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) certification as a Coatings Inspector Level 3. Candidates earn certification after successfully completing a peer review exam, administered after they have completed training and passed examinations on Level 1 & 2 of NACE's Coatings Inspector Program.
Level 3 certification is an oral examination that tests a candidate's practical and theoretical knowledge of coatings and coating inspection. Questions are selected from coating standards, procedures, inspection instruments, coating uses and specific case studies.
Level 2 training includes in-depth training in surface preparation techniques, specialty coating types, inspection criteria, instrumentation, and failure analysis.
Vulcan Painters now has on staff two NACE certified Level 3 Coating Inspectors and two Protective Coatings Specialists (PCS), a specialty designation of SSPC, the Society for Protective Coatings.
