Vulcan Painters, Inc.
Vulcan Painters, Inc. is an industrial painting contracting firm specializing in industrial painting projects, blasting and painting structural steel and blasting and coating pipe. Our work includes painting and maintenance in a number of industries and takes us to paper mills, power plants, chemical plants, and mines (we are MSHA certified). We also paint college buildings, hospitals, churches and historic landmarks. Headquartered in Bessemer, Alabama, we’re the 17th largest painting contractor in the nation, according to Engineering News Record, and one of only a few contractors to earn ISO 9001 certification.
In October 2009 Vulcan Painters became the first coatings contracting company to meet the certification requirements of the Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) QP 9 program and its QS 1 certification program. In addition, Vulcan is the first contracting company to achieve six SSPC Quality Program certifications including QP 1, QP 2,QP 3 QP 8, QP 9 and QS 1. Vulcan Pipe and Steel Coatings, Inc. has also achieved SSPC QP 3 certification.
The SSPC certifications are part of its Painting Contractor Certification Program (PCCP), which establishes consensus standards, developed by a diverse committee of industry professionals. PCCP is a nationally recognized independent contractor evaluation program and pre-qualification tool. Read more about these certifications at the Society for Protective Coatings.
For more than half a century Vulcan has provided customers in the Southeast and beyond with solutions to their commercial and industrial coating problems. Safety, skill, technology and accountability are the strengths we bring to each job, large or small. We believe that a well-trained worker is a safer worker, and Vulcan prides itself on its commitment to training. We use both extensive in-house training, and skill and career development courses from leading trade organizations, such as SSPC, and the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE).
That training and our long history in the industry gives us the experience to accomplish the job for the customer, on time and on budget. Our pre-job meeting organizes manpower and equipment and sets the schedule. We consistently use the newest useful technology to accomplish our task, whether it is automated systems for the inner diameter of ductile iron pipe for sewer, or a closed containment system controlling overspray on a busy street. When the technology did not exist, we developed it!
And we have a commitment to serve our customers by continuously improving customer satisfaction. Part of our ISO certification, continuous improvement means that customer satisfaction is measured, concerns are addressed, causes identified and mistakes corrected.
